What was our journey to this breed
Our story
Everything starts in 2005, when we bought our first female Weimaraner - Kimi. She was great. She lived to be almost 15 years old. She loved the children, us, and we loved her. We would breathe for each other. Saying goodbye to her was even worse when her health broke within a week and we had to decide whether to let her go. She was embraced until her last breath.
Kimi is irreplaceable. She taught us a lot and filled the lives of our children, who don't want to be without a dog.
Thanks to her, this breed impressed us so much that after she left, we decided to get another female of this breed. We currently have 2 females and one male. Initially, we had no idea that everything would engulf us so much...
When Whiskey 2021 came to us before Christmas, we had no idea what direction our future would take.
Originally the plan was completely different, however as time went on we decided to do our best to keep Whis. This included not only exhibitions, but above all getting to know hunting cynology and hunting. In order to be kept, the Weimaraner must fulfill not only the exhibition, but also the working side - Spring training and Autumn tests (PZ) in the 1st prize. By completing the PZ, the dog becomes a dog that can be used for hunting.
The beginnings were difficult, because we only started training almost in her 1st year. That's why it took a little while for her to understand what was wanted of her. But now she is a great working bitch with great potential and we will definitely develop it in the future.
Oldřich (the owner of Whis), as a non-hunter from a non-hunting family, devotes himself to her as much as possible and decided to join the hunters. They are a great couple. Together they go through hunting training, hunting tests, exhibitions and, above all, hunting, when the female is used in practice, where she does a great job.
Establishment of a kennel
The issue of breeding was clear already when we acquired Whis.
The name of our station came from our neighborhood, where we live. We are a short distance from the forest, where the local Rájec-Ráječko Hunting Association has a cottage, and a beautiful pool has been built on the forest stream, around which the surrounding area has improved. You can sit there, rest, but also swim. Locals call this place "in the deep", hence the name.
What is our goal...
Our goal is above all quality and healthy breeding.
Therefore, our female not only has a heart health examination (DCM), which is mandatory, but also an optional eye examination (DOV), X-ray - dysplasia of the elbow joints (DLK), hip joints (DKK), osteochondritis dissecans of the shoulder joints (OCD), luxation of the patella (patella), spondylosis (SA) and lumbar lumbosacral vertebra (LTV), complete DNA tests, but also specific DNA tests focusing on issues for the given breed - degenerative myelopathy (DM exon 2), spinal dysraphia (NTD), hypomyelination/shaking puppy syndrome (SPS)
